I headed over to the Cathedral of Learning today, my favorite lunchtime subject. Pleased to find the Irish room vacant, I thought I’d try some gels and evil up the carved dog-head chairs.
After three shots, my flash batteries died, and I discovered that the spare set and charger were both in my other camera bag. Oh well. Had to settle for this one.

The Serpentine Room
This one isn’t part of the flower show, but I love it nonetheless. These little pincushions, called “Red Powderpuff” (Calliandra haematocephala) grow all over a tree in the Amazon forest.
Congratulations to my dear friends on welcoming baby #3! Let’s all send them strength and caffeine. Their oldest just turned 3, middle just turned 1 in January… and now there’s this adorable little girl.

About a year ago, I discovered this group, created by local wedding and portrait photographer Anita Buzzy Prentiss. Anita’s vision was to provide a creative outlet for photographers who don’t always have time to shoot what they want to shoot.
Last Wednesday marked the group’s 5-year-anniversary. Anita suggested that for this meeting, everyone bring their camera. It was a blast! Here are a few of the images I captured.

These adorable boys are quickly approaching their 1st and 3rd birthdays. Their parents must be very proud of how handsome they are – and so happy to pose. Hooray for that!
